The Aura

The aura that begs

expression

of our souls

subtly pervades

and quietly invades

the safe haven we are shown

all the hiding places that we've known


Our feelings

that laugh

at the feet

of their demise

will softly

or fiercely

yet surely arise


The truth

in our hearts

leftover

from times long ago

will plague us yet teach us

and comfort us

as onward we go.
