Everything from the line “I will be afraid…” on through the end of this sensitive poem is one of the most adept expressions I’ve ever heard about ‘loss of loved one,’ even before it happens. This piece of poetry describes so well what is underneath these words, “I can’t live without you.” But the gentleness of your way of saying “I will be afraid…” is so perfect. Rich with sensitivity is what I find in your writings, not just this one. Wish there were more souls like yours. There are many here in Authors Den. Thank you ~~ djl
It is certainly love to "let go" of one another. But I wouldn't ask that someone kill some roses and put them on my body buried in a box in a hole that I paid for in perpetuity. I'd much rather ask that she cast my ashes to the wind so that my elements can reform into other beings in the distant future with or without the wisdom of a lifetime contained therein.

You will never be able to let either the joys or the memories go.
What a beautiful poem!
