Great work! There are some people who are better off getting divorced however. I myself couldn't let my daughter endure that man. to me there are two types of divorce; Divorce to benefit the kids, and Divorce to benefit the parents.
Being apart may be hard on the kids but sometimes... Only sometimes, it's better for the kids and done for the kids.

It is not fun. 12 years on and they getr worse, kept my lad from me for 7 yrs. Yet I fight on the hopeless crazy biased court system..

I was so shocked when my dad took me and my older brother aside and told us that he and my mom were getting a divorce...I had never even heard them argue and I just didn't understand. I felt like I was standing out in the middle of a lake on thin cracking ice with no where to go and no way to get to a safe place...just waiting for the ice to break and fearing that my life would soon be over. My baby sister never got over the divorce and always felt that she was the cause of it. She started sleep-walking and had horrible nightmares and lived with constant fears, later turning to drugs and a very sad and lonely life. My sister below me did a little better but I can remember her crying for my dad so many times...it ripped my heart out. A divorce may be the best thing for the parents, and if there is any violence involved, perhaps the best thing for everyone, but in our case, it tore apart our family and left us all feeling unwanted and unable to trust. This is a very touching poem, Amy.

Often it's the children that suffer the most during a divorce. There little hearts can't understand what happened. In some cases
it's a relief not to hear the fighting anymore between the parents,
but still there's usually guilt that the child feels its their fault. Thank you for opening our eyes, Amy.
