~The Heart of a Poet ~

Dreamers have a special place

among imagery and imagination

enter the heart of a poet and you will see

a magical world of love and misery

Happy times and sorrow’s tune

kisses in the wind

and rainfall in June

Character buildings, that shapes the soul

light filled darkness, in a world so cold

A quill filled with memories

relayed on a page

of temporary solstice, and time of rage

God offered the gift

and you carry on

writing your feelings, till time is done

in hopes that a few

may filter into another’s life

and help them understand

and get through their strife

Loss and greetings, meetings from before

continue to inspire

as we open up another door

Leave the heart of a poet

and you will see many things

maybe you will start your own rhymes

and reasons to make another person sing
