~ Vaporous Frozen Silk ~

Endless snowy white

descending like a diaphanous veil

rendering objects invisible to the eye

Being enveloped as if in a cocoon

driving into and being swallowed

by vaporous frozen silk

Peering into the night

loosing my sense of location

in gossamer shadings of one color

gripping the wheel

panic seeps into my hands

As more white flakes formed

coagulating and crystallizing

encasing the car in white

windows becoming smaller

Retreating from an unfriendly

environment

with illusions of being consumed

by gauzy clouds of down

Disappearing into the whiteness

becoming just one white spec

among millions

in the icy crystal fog

Ah yes, Carole, the two-sided coin; beauty that can kill. You have captured the beauty of the storm and its hapless prey perfectly. I was with you.

Peace. Joyce

My dear Carole,
You made me feel just what I am:
One white spec among millions and always in some kinda fog.

Fun n' games!

Dear Carole,

Your poem reminds me of the ten years I lived in Northern Wisconsin. There were times, at night during a snow storm, I felt like I was driving at warp speed. The way the flakes zoomed past the headlights. It was amazingly beautiful. I really enjoyed your poem.

Blessings,
Sharon

Quite a poem, Carole, and it can be quite a chilling experience when we're suddenly encased in snowy white on a dark winter's night.
