~Rain Moods~

 The house hugged its space
heartbeat pulsing
all the while pretending to be empty
Feeling a slight stiffness to the way
she slipped through the air
when crossing the room
A lively patina of emotions
squirmed across her thoughts

A clap of thunder rolled

windowpanes vibrating like drumheads

lights like pulsing storm beams

Coruscating curtains of radiant rain

 silvered the night
torrents pounded and pried

seeking entrance

as the storm painted luminous

galaxies on the skylights

as faint images

crawled the hallways floors

Loneliness was present as if pure purpose

encased in pure impatience

pierced and filled the void

with an oppressive sense of bleakness

Standing by the window

the street was visible

behind that sequined veil of rain

only in a succession of wedges

between half closed blinds

She watched her reflection

mingle and run down the window

chasing raindrops
