I was asked to repost this poem, to honor my dear friend on his birthday (he is the one that inspired this piece of work)...enjoy!

~Ode to an Aging Casanova~

A thousand dark secrets lurked in his eyes
they were hooded and sleepy
as sexuality clung to him like a cloak
He is a lover of women, mostly Southern
and a lover of words
When he got the two together
there was a perpetual temperature rise
running from hot to red hot
~~
He belongs to another time
before flirting became extinct
and the pursuit of romance was still an art
He's the kind of man that other men admire
and women want to be with
~~
He is handsome, debonair, dashing
flamboyant, dapper and elegant
A gentleman with a silver tongue
this persuasive aging Casanova
~~
He is part charming riverboat rake
and part swashbuckling rogue
~~
He left them all with smiles
the happier for where they have been
Each had a rip roaring, fire cracking,
roller coaster of a ride
and were all the better for buying a ticket

and knowing him...

:)) What IS it about these lovable rogues and outrageous flirts? Audacity, charm or... animal charm and instincts? Who cares... an ADORABLE write, Carole, where the essence of this man's charisma and after-shave ooozes off the page. Intoxicating and delightful, he has obviously put more than a sparkle in your pen! Was it HE who requested this repost??? Can hear the sighs of satisfaction all round. This is a fabulous portrait of words to be framed and hung... Beautiful to behold. TY Kate xx

It sounds like Salty-Walt to me, because he is definitely a pirate and a charming swashbuckling rogue with an unfair luck with the ladies from the south or anywhere else.
Sounds envious? you damn right!!!!!!!
