Spring Moments (English Tanka)

~ Spring Moments ~

 


footsteps fall softly
on a trail of pink pedals
tracing the winds path
swirling like noisy leaves
a gust of sparrows

 

gathering clouds
the moment before dark
a flash of lightning
as the frog jumps
into the sounds of rain



at the seashore, low tide
as daylight disappears
the sky went pink
and the ocean beneath it
blushed in response

Would that those pink petals be Magnolias. Also liked the ocean verse too. and it is a great poem. From your heart and tells a lot.

Don't think I have ever read a poem of springtime with more eloquence and without all the hoopla which usually comes with this so-called most cherished season . . . Give me a bare-limbed tree silhouetted against the darkening sky and I'm happy . . . Very nicely done, Carole . . .
