In the fine lines worn and woven, a telling memoir to that which precedes this version of us. An edifying space that grasps ankles in blatant reminder of the proximity to the ground and the bitter truth that it can never be too far away. The soul is an ever-expanding chasm that is chambered and layered and bottomless. As we fill it, it expands to the horizon of our emotional breaking point and then, just beyond. In the journey to this moment, so much has been accomplished and forgotten. Each passing moment, a litany to the staggering multitude of experiences absorbed and expunged in assimilated efficiency. If life could be lived backward, these things we do and feel and say, would we long more for their lack?
