Each breath is like a scream
a scream for release
a groveling rasp caught in a voiceless throat

I wrestle these demons
and they cheat
they know my will and they break it
right down to the bone-white whimsy of my character flaws

There she is again
just like before and before that
a glowing aura of consistent pulse and pheromone hijacking my weakness and gathering the salt in all my tears for another long-distance run down my nascent loathing

Here I go again
connecting the dots on a checkerboard looking for the non-sequential pattern and swearing it was there a minute ago

I met her and immediately shredded her facade
her core was there and it was unrelentingly brilliant and challenged and vulnerable and not expecting to see me in any case
a perimeter of heat and light that encompassed essence and shrunk to the mind's touch

It's a sickness
a callow disregard for the rules
it's an invasion of the ephemeral

I'm an escape artist trying desperately to get myself locked up.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
