And in my travels
I've come to land
atop a dais
in your blue hand
A willing captive
no bars to enkeep
show off my radiance
so that you can sleep
Hidden from sight
and truth selfsame
forfeit excuse
revere the blame
A light in dark
bright hot and white
released from thrall
freedom of night
The palm is open
awaiting return
my light flashes
but never will burn

This is so cute and my nephew when he was four thought that God gave the lightning bug his light as a stop light so the other bugs would not run into him.
I enjoyed this Brian..it reminded me of when I was a child
and I would catch lightning bugs in a jar and sometimes keep them overnight in my room. Thanks for bring back some good memories.
Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
