So scrambled to alleys and holes alike
to avoid the new age crusade
'Twas easier yet to align with the reich
once lofty ideals betrayed

For five years n' one they swept through
and the world was purged of all trace
Save for the first- original issue
spirited away to a place

Deep in the mountains a grotto was kept
and failsafes were written and laid
unknown and unaware these pioneers slept
through evolution their sanctity staid

Time crushed on and course did follow
for years that numbered past eighty
in the vice of excess they did wallow
survival, an issue, most weighty

A plague started small away in the east
and ravaged along with no pause
consuming humans and sparing the beast
all tongues growing slack in their jaws

A cabal of shaman fearing the end
referred to their last instruction
activate the sequence now to suspend
and begin the flow of induction

A cleansing of time wiped man then away
and earth did regain her old luster
deep in the hills a computer display
winked and it's energies did muster
