I thought about it for an eternity
and know it well
It would seem
I have it resolved
If then, it is to be
then it is as such
and I am removed
and will stay thus
for as long as eternity
will span me
I say these
as now
for it is the only jagged outpost
left in the abyssal desert to come
I suppose that it is as it should be
and all things do trail in destiny's wake
I take no comfort
but display no irresolution
I am certain of few
other things
Chiefly among them
the love in a child's eyes
the connection between us
and the power you hold to save it

this has been, oddly and by far, one of my favorites
