The moment has eclipsed and infinity is ceded the remains of an empire lie in ruin defeated Tragic and superfluous a circle has broken the fissure - a chasm the eulogy is spoken Fast and like faith predestiny enacted the remnants of haste suffer justice exacted The mind tears into two plagued by myriad reproach variable insolence as the curious approach Wasted and yearning so desperate to heal rudimentary indignity and the plausible surreal And in mourning the passing with the heart so perplexed you look up and realize that you're now in the next END CHAPTER Copyright: Brian Pellerino 2005

the variable meter and flawless rhyme emphasize the clarity of imagery as well as the transcedence of time ...
