I saw the ground from the sky yesterday
and I chanced to consider the irony
Once airborne, I wanted to be back on the ground
It was a precarious feeling of absentia
The suspension of my consistecy, but more than that...
the removal of my self from the flow of life
I saw the ground from the sky last night
and the lights stood stark as beacons
to the life below
The huddled and bustling civilization hurtling itself through pretense and damnation -
salvation and sanctity -
poetry and principal -
and I didn't mind being above it
I see the sky from the ground today
and I long to swim its ethereal currents
to cut a swath through its ozone and cumulus
To free myself from the burden of knowing my confining nature
To see the heavens as they see me
I see the sky and the ground from somewhere in between
and I know that I am of both these realms
and of neither
I am at once an abomination and an enchantment -
earth and sky -
the fulcrum balanced delicately in each step I take
towards the place where they inevitably meet
To see the heavens as they see me"
conceptually enticing!
