Thursday
and we stand
static and subtle
on the precipice
the grave tow of the week behind
scutters begrudgingly at our heels
and the pale auger of the weekend
chides light on the horizon
Teetering neatly betwixt,
we nod our assent,
a wink to the carriage -
and drop headlong
into the fray

fridays and birthdays are overrated
thursday used to be my favorite day of the week
