The cold is complete
and the weariness of foot
is the break in stride
that leaves you late
and a hair's breadth from
entropy
Tangled briars
tear the spirit in ragged strips
as the passage becomes choked
with dissonance and regret
The way - all but lost
to the wayward cravings
of the insatiable
Blinded, blissless
endlessly churning for the
sake of movement
struggling to bury the past
in the pursuit of fruition
a clouded mirage - unknown
but all too familiar
