When the summary is in
and the darkness occluded
the sweeter the taste
when the pain is eluded

So much lighter the burden
when the knowledge is missed
the kiss - so much better
if we forget the fist

Can the cupcake be enjoyed
each bite ever-savored
when the sugar and calories
keep it thusly flavored

Ignorance is truly bliss
in matters of the heart
the dark underbelly
must be kept apart

So turn a blind eye
and enjoy the silence
of the peace we achieve
with terrible violence
