I didn't call you on your day
are you mad?
I couldn't make the words work
I feel bad
I didn't cry foul on your day
are you pissed?
I wasn't aware of the irony
yet you are missed
I didn't speak to you on your day
were you annoyed?
I lost the sound of your voice
your rhythm was void
I didn't die on your day
are you alone?
I found the will in every second
the ache in every bone
I didn't lie to you on your day
are you relieved?
I dabbled in some truth
not to be believed
I didn't write for you on your day
hope you're not sore
I want to do right by you
I owe you that and more

Beautiful. You've reminded me that doing right by the ones we love is important to do now, when it will mean the most to all, but no less important to us even if they may never know. thank you
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
