Spiral Flower Ascending

by Aberjhani — Read all 107 poems by Aberjhani

Against all other judgments, Love made me do it.

Monday, February 14, 2005

Odd like waves of silvergold twilight

the roots of your ancient hunger

spread through the sensuous belly of this earth

surge and stretch like underground lightning

nibbling the fruit of a joyful delight.

What you taste is less than half of what I am.

The stem and bud of your purpose and need

breaks the drought-hardened surface

like an over-thirsty young lover

licking at honey on an angry bear’s paw,

naked as a raindrop and green as good fortune

beneath the curious adoration of the sun

you travel circles of gold inside circles of gold

your jade leaves and pregnant petals

like the breasts of Venus shaking tambourines

till thunder weeps wild his wild and dreamy ballad.

Through my mouth light flows reflections of your soul dressed in painted skins.

Around this world and above it

from Jupiter to Andromeda to the garden in your eyes

you sail love’s blossoms all over this universe

each one delivers the infant of a new star

rising as you shine, shining as you rise

Spiral Flower trembling a cool hot breeze against the dawn of her ascension.

A black skylark rolls time on his tongue

singing rivers of angels to carry her through.

Your imagery is stunning. The cross between the celestial and the gripping visceral is just tremendous. This poem aches with beauty.

Dear Aberjhani,

Love can certainly makes us do some incredibly amazing things... if love made you do this then I say "superb" may love continue to inspire you, as your words pour forth. You leave me breathless, and swirling in a sea of vivid imagery.

"A black skylark rolls time on his tongue
singing rivers of angels to carry her through." ---> A magnificent vision of heavenly angelic imagery. Poetry penned as only a Master Poet is able :)

warm hugs

Aberjhani, you never fail to inspire me with your incredible skills and talents as a superb wordsmith. SPIRAL FLOWER ASCENDING has so many different faces and voices, when read and read again. It could be words between lovers, it could be a lament between the gods and the earth. Your symbology, imagery, skill of weaving words leaves me breathless. I am going to have to invest in an O2 tank whenever I read something written by Aberjhani.

Words from a lexicon selected by a wise soul
composed the rich imagery of "Spiral Flower Ascending"
to please the nose of Phoebus with the scent of knowledge;
enchant Erato, and delight the ears of Euterpe with the rhythm of musical wisdom through the lines of this masterpiece titled,
"Spiral Flower Ascending".

I salute You, Sublime Poet!
