On her tits stand two wide-fanned palm trees

that drop coconuts in my nude lap

whenever she sneezes love or giggles sorrow.

The needle tracks on her right arm

are pilgrims going up a holy mountain

circled with smoke rings of dead time.

Inside her dreams of blood-tongued haikus

we suck night through each others’ mouths and blow

bubbles of stars in the face of the moon.

Both of her thighs tattooed with a flying phallus

that jumps hard when her muscles flex or when

mine lines up hungrily between the two of hers.

To the death-waltz of tanks in Iraq and the

mad-ghoul shrieks of shredded brains in Israel

we explode geometric crystals of junkie oohs

and ahhs, and ohh-myyy-Gawwwds!!!

Inside my sleep of needle-scarred sun-downs

we groove on the courage it takes for E

to consistently equal MC/Square.

Occasionally our faith fails and we

croon our reds, whites, and blues:

“Fix me good baby, baby fix me right,

fix me in the morning, fix me all night.

Don’t know how I caught all this shit and fear,

wasn’t broke a bit when I first got here.

You gotta fix me baby, said baby make me right.”

I couldn't have said it better than everybody hereunder, Aberjhani. A very sensual, vivid and profound write ... waltzing with death and shredding your brains, but you still crave for another fix ...

Utterly speechless and astounded!!! Applaud!!!!!!!

God bless, Aberjhani!

What can I say? Reading this is an engrossing, gut-wrenching experience - a bit of sadness and a bit of exotica. But certainly speaking so well from the soul.

This is hot, Aberjhani, gettin' down under the skin hot. But so cleverly done, I wasn't aware I stopped breathing until I reached

"...You gotta fix me baby, said baby make me right.”

TATOO BLUES is a seductive mix of socio-political highs and lows into one explosive, erotic molotov cocktail.

The poetic value here is priceless!

Good grief!! Eye-ball stonkin and totally mind-blowing... and so richly, smoothly and cerebrally done. Wish I could take all of the below comments and mix them in a shaker-cocktail and blow them out as bubbles of appreciation... but all I can add is a palty WOW!! Particularly swing with Nordette's comment: this is a class and intelligent combination, and I like the fact that, far from being away on a trip, it is rooted and grounded in the hard-hitting lunchtime TV screen. I have to keep this as a constant reminder that this is just about as good as it gets in this genre. TY, this is solid-gold rockin! Kate xx

Within the polyverse of humanity visions and emotions meet with sexuality, - social pregnancy and conspiracy under the tent of Eros,-where the flag of Phallus dances by the gates of "The Holy City" next to venus tunnel, and a new era is about to be designed to sell freedom and heavenly real estate to the citizens of the Greek-Roman Empire, first to fifth classes´ level.

I have enjoyed the reading of this masterpiece titled,
"Tattoo Blues for My Lover the Junkie".

This poem is a total experience in itself. It just tells it so like it is. Thankfully (I think), I've never experienced the "drug scene" but I've got friends enough who have shown me what "gives." Not all have had the same experiences and some have left this dimension a while ago. Remarkable portrayal, Aberjhani. Thank you. Love and peace to you. Regis

Aberjhani,

This reminds me of the sixties--free love and speech and all that

In your face, bold, daring, OUT THERE--this one will linger awhile--BRAVO!

I had read your blog, this morning, Aberjhani, and was looking forward to this read...

The piece is vivid-blunt, the mood set into the deeply conditioned human taboos of perceived debasement of selves, stunningly projected into a reader's mind like a floating but broken dance step.

And, oh, so sweet, is this fulfillment of carnality, sexuality, and mind-altering drugs - creating a completion of highs, and heights, of indulgence, of rapture. Of a type of happiness that doesn't last, but dissolves into a hell of repeating redundancies perpetuating Nirvana, the soul aching because Hell is already feeding on the Earth and its inhabitants. And there's nothing you can do...

It is a masterly voice of human complexity and frailty exposing Self with total knowledge of Self, with poignant pathos of offering the reader a life of forlorn reality, of hopeless eventuality.

The sparking of the erotic lines meld and mold into a spiral of sensual duplicity, using the 'known sins of sex', in a religious context, to punctuate the Abyss of the author's feelings/mind/thoughts.

Superbly done, Aberjhani, you have such sensual skill at combining what we 'hate to love', or, 'love to hate', with wondrous twisting and twinings of words, into breathtaking amalgamations of new mind sights, and scents, mind touchings and living, mind hearing, and flying. It's like having to come back down to earth after reading what makes your spirit soar...

ok, your descriptions inspire so many images for me, I could veer off into a poem on so many of them.......very inspiring

I got sort of lost in the second stanza, and had to reread a few times....but I am glad I read your other reviewers, to know that I was not the only one a bit confused.

Does the lover in this poem, represent humanity??? America? Life?
Desire to survive??? Thats what I am leaning towards.........
survival.

Could you let me know?

I am new to your webpage here, but I have been poking around, reading here and there, and I am more than impressed..........

big wow

This is an erotic hyperdermic of a poem that shocks sensuality and ruin into the flesh of literary excellence. Nice work my friend.

Still trying to figure out the Iraq/Israel connection, but nevertheless, the poem was so reminiscient of some of the beat poetry out of Greenwich Village during the fifties. Good stuff.

There is no methadone for a poetry jones, and why would a passionate lover want to break the habit anyway? Your lush literary style has certainly "fixed" our lascivious minds with this one. You've taken the concepts of "dream lover" and "sexual healing" to another dimension of poetic romance, justice, and politics. ~~Nordette
