Bright Kiss of Insanity

by Aberjhani — Read all 107 poems by Aberjhani

Saturday, November 12, 2005

With intellect and beauty locked away

inside liquid chapels of candle-lit madness,

yours remain the eyes that fed Solomon

his wisdom. And the celestial garden of your face

the same for which a thousand moons buried

their crumbled hearts beneath a trembling sea.

Like the satin flower scent of a coffin your gaze

thickens before the danger of swords. Or love.

And like the obscene image of a demon’s corpse

sniffing its crotch for fresh food

you stalk joy’s temple with malicious fatal sorrow.

Who can prove this is punishment from God?

Who would want to? Why hang so many signs

claiming Jesus was preoccupied the day paradise

died in your smile and turned your springtime lips

into a land oppressed by cruel endless winter?

To slaughter beauty and suckle hypocrisy––

sport for maniacs and apocalyptic ghouls.

What hell condemned, let heaven now heal.

A girl like you: your platinum heart ground up like beef,

devoured and shat by the canines of bigotry and hate.

Nevermore the furious glory of your mind at work

stitching luminous tapestries of revelation and grace.

Laugh loud, my summer-poem darling, and sing now too,

for insanity’s bright kiss shines blessings divine

upon angels so wondrous and tortured as you.

A very, very absolute and painful declaration of devotion to a being that shines in all its facettes: in light no less than in darkness- and which in either, like the poem itself, is of great beauty.

Oh, my. I, too, am left wordless. . .a rare state, as everyone who
knows me will attest {'hush, y'all:)}. Among my favorite jewels
are the same "for which a thousand moons buried
their crumbled hearts beneath a trembling sea" and "Laugh loud, my summer-poem darling." This is a poem that keeps on giving.
Probably should have stayed with wordless. . .couldn't help myself! 'Pea' <3

Ma-a-a-n you musta been REALLY ticked to write that second stanza portion: And like the obscene image of a demon’s corpse sniffing its crotch for fresh food you stalk joy’s temple with malicious fatal sorrow."

All I can say is "don't date her sister!"
I can see the science fiction genius in you just from this poem alone. Wow!
blessin's Bro. A.

'To slaughter beauty and suckle hypocrisy' That is their stock in trade. You captured it so well, my brother.

This is one of the most powerful tributes to "martyrdom" that I have ever read - and the boldest and brightest! It compels and repulses, almost to the uttermost, in the sense that we have conjured for us magnficently before our eyes the sense of the highest worth and beauty of the subject, coupled with the foulest horrors of her assassins/assailants. I don't know how you are able to hold such polar tensions in place and yet maintain the beauty in the flow and rhythm of your poetry, Aberjhani, but it seems to be a lavish speciality of your specific gifting. Language is like the opulence of golden fruit that falls from the Paradise tree in your mind and spills it's lushness from your lips like wine. The cup here is both demonic and divine and is full to the brim. TY for this poetic altar. LOL Kate xx

This is a key to open the first aid box that contains the panacea to heal the scars of doubt, and flourish the health of awareness.

Those who have eyes will read; those who have ears will listen, and those who have both will think on the messages on the side, on the face and between the lines of "Bright Kiss of Insanity".

From the opening line I heard the drums of wisdom, which accompany the words to the closing lines.
"Bright Kiss of Insanity" has added a new page of poetic beauty to the pages of the Major Art.

May Your life be a long healthy one in a Blissful Creative Living, Poet!

Gratefully,

as i read this poem, i am reminded of the saving madness that embellishes those who realize, that devils are really angels waiting to be set free and oppression can be overcome by the will to secure the "furious glory" of a mind at work ...

powerfully descriptive imagery ...

Man, Aberjhani, you do have some heavy thoughts on sanity or the lack thereof...do you think that maybe sometimes it might be detremental to be too intelligent...? Of course I won't have to worry about that, I have a hard enough time remembering my name from moment to moment...
Okay what was it I was saying...damn, long term drug use = short term memory loss, or is it the other way around, I seem to have a problem remembering which...LOL? Find Peace extremely intelligent poet...Ed & Rufuz (you have Rufuz' paw of approval)

Utterly beautiful in the sense that it flows like a river and pulls you along like a ribbon in the wind....to crash down in a whirlpool of emotions at the very end!!

"Howz that for an answer to my "feel" for this one.....lol!!
