The momentum builds as the cadense defies living to the degree that which we are born passes time. You twist words into a surreal pen much like Dali did with oils.

Bravo.

Dear Aberjhani,

This poem comes from a heart which is in tune with the world yet refuses to be suffocated by it. There is a way out of the madness and, perhaps, the open door is one that we decorate with our love. We DO have a choice as to how we live our lives right here and now. As for me, I'd rather "make the kind of music that life sings".

Love & Light,
Joseph

blood-and-guts, raw prose dispicting mankind's inability to sing along to the tune of his own internal music ... one can read this in one breath like an om emanating from within the world's pathos ...

Ah that we could all engage in that wonderful hobby without overpopulating sacred neglected children so full of famine, AIDS, and hate from families torn apart by indifference, war, and greed in the wondrous obsession of pedophilia!

Still, I long to do it again (tonight?).

Thanks for revealing my thoughts.

"A Short Proposal on Alternative Hobbies" takes me on a trip to reality's land; and from there it ignites the dynamo of my imagination to fuel its wings and soar through the fields of Man's wrongdoing in the playground of ignorance of the MOROSITES'(*) OCCUPIED TERRITORY.

I salute You, Poet.

This is an "E" Ticket for a fun-filled ride, Aberjhani! I loved every line but I must admit I laughed outloud when I read the following:
"in what we call the meantime please allow me to peruse the poetry of your velvet belly in a very non-intellectual pre-postmodern intimate sort of way" There is much to ponder in our world today and at some point most of us realize that there is little we can do to change it, but on a personal, one-to-one, we can make this world a most beautiful, loving and happy place.
Take care,
Sherry

I'm on board with this one Aberjhani! You have chosen what I too believe to be the ticket to ride! There certainly will be plenty of ignominy, scandal etc and it is a never ending stream of pain that makes me wonder if we aren't more masochist than we know if we keep buying into it. Love your solution!..." we can type obituaries all day long or we can pluck nipples like guitars and make the kind of music that life sings best." Amen!!!

Well, holeyschmoley.... this gets right to the nub, the hub, the jump, the jive, the honey, the hive, the bump and the grind, the lose and the find... and is the greatest "chat-up" line I've ever heard!!!! :)) If not now, then when? You could convince me that the world is about to end tonight, and of the best ways in which to spend the remaining 7000 seconds of it. What the hell... or heaven... Your imagery totally smokes me and your imagery melts. Laughin and cryin both at the same time, like some great emotional epiphany, this is the best reasoned argument as to how to enjoy what remains of love, life and longevity that I've heard. This is the melting pot of mortality and it's cool, reportage tones heightens its sexiness. Can you tell this works for me? You convince that there's only one place to be found when the balloon goes up (as it seems to daily at the moment)... and that's - in love. Pressing my boot-heel firmly on the neck of my rampaging hormones, I could otherwise say that this is a wonderful response and denouement to the devastation wrought on that citadel of New Orleans last year.... funny how her spirit continues to express and reinvent herself. This is not fatalistic, or maudlin, but alive with the understanding of the times we live in, and of what there is of worth that remains, and of that which reaps the most beauty and bounty in the soul of humanity... Or, as Johnners has already said... "All You Need Is Love"... I am totally blown out of the water by this. But I'm far too British to let it show... LOL Kate xx

Poet/Author Aberjhani ...

A delightfully insightful pondering on what is important...

Aside from the comtinual bombarding of ugliness and depravity that the media so regularly crams down our throat, the Poet/Author Aberjhani reminds us that there is a song more fulfilling to be sung - the love and expressions of such between two.

I commend you Poet for the writing of A SHORT PROPOSAL ON ALTERNATIVE HOBBIES which could also be construed as an exhortation to embrace beauty, and flow together in the river of love and meaningfulness, exchanging and edifying one another with those beautiful things the Creator has given us so liberally to enjoy with the one whom we love.

I salute you Poet/Author for reminding us about what is most important in this excellent composition!

In fraternity and vision for a brighter tomorrow ...

A kick-ass poem, no other way to categorize this, Aberjhani, and it is good to be able to belly up to the bar of sensuous pleasure with you, because I know, I just know, before daybreak there will be blood seeping onto the sawdust floor, yours or mine or that s.o.b. coming through the door right now, because, buddy, THAT, unfortunately is the nature of the Beast.

Designed to calm the internal clock of humanity, thus allowing to synchronize with all other things...the evidence of relaxation through participating in some form of voluntary alternative hobby to supplement required daily work proves good mental health is directly related to a willingness to play. This one plucks nipples like harp strings, Aberjhani...from Oslo with love, by performing harp solos on the Hurtigruten, a fleet of eleven steam cruise ships chartered by tourists to view the breathtaking fjords of Norway...starry nights and dancing bare-breasted, revising history from the vital statistics page of "Birth" not "Death"...
