A childhood freind died of cancer. I had avoided seeing her because I watched my sister die of leukemia. I had just found the courage to visit, when I found out it was too late...
Too late to hold your pale, limp hand
Too late to soothe the morphine daymares
Too late to fill the water glass that would never be used
Too late to smooth the tangled sheets
Too late to rearrange the flowers
Too late to cool your feverish brow
Too late to shut the drape against the setting sun
I do think (hope) the departed understand our reluctance in such situations, we all have our limits and strengths....
no one can do it all.....at all times
I hope you are at peace with this........I am sure your friend understands......keep her in your heart........

Well sometimes they get to the point where they do not want to see anyone. During treatment when I looked so bad, I prefered to be at home and away from stares and whispers. We have as Andy said all done this.
