I have just sponsored a child from Honduras. Her name is Genesis...
Closed from possibility, the eleven year old eyes mourn the larger world beyond survival
The upturned corners of her mouth are intelligent, hungry for knowledge
and the meaning of existence
Beyond poverty's slavery that noble features bely
She works in the fields and lives in a one-room scrap shack
Peices of wood, tin, cardboard and black plastic are her home,
While peices of her paradise are sold for thousands to occasional tourists
Her fatherless family of five subsists on $108 a month, eating beans, rice and corn
Genesis, here is your beginning
You will be the first
And you will pass the light to your siblings
And you will raise your family out of poverty's deprivation
You are very kind....warm write...very humane....If you dont know me and my friends are taking care of 30 homeless Kids here in Lakshaya Shanti....Its great to learn that you are not only a poet but a caretaker too....I salute you...love n luck....BHUWAN!!
i hope the best for her and for all children in similiar circumstances ...
