Munch With Your Lunch?

The marketplace for art and its values has always puzzled me...

A 75 million dollar gasp was heard
around the world
When someone stole 'The Scream' from the Munch Museum

The 'Madonna', sweet and reverent, hardly made a mention
So much for the hours of faith and devotion
Munch shed onto the canvas, blood sweat and tears his absolution

Now, another theft of his sacrifice: 'Blue Dress'
And the blue-blooded ink runs off the presses of today's news

'Self-Portrait' valued at a mere 170,000 and 2 lithos of "little consequence"
Were pryed from the walls of a hotel restaurant, while patrons cryed at the sacrilege

When police gave chase and smashed into the assailant's car, the game ended
But the papers report that, despite broken glass, the artwork was unharmed...

Interesting poem here and it was good that the painting was not harmed. No matter what we think we would not want our work to be destroyed.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
