I come from the earth, it lingers under my nails No delicate flower wilting under the sun I bear the weight of the world, and it has made me strong I am wheat stock, sturdy yet yielding I have built my life from nothing, I have risen and fallen many times My leaven a loving heart and tireless faith Those who have tripped me, have brought themselves down As bitter, fruitless yeast I am a pregnant loaf full of life, kneaded from adversity My children were born of pain, and share my strength I come from earth, and I am salt...

Oh, my, Linda... What a discovery you are. With very poetic style you speak with the kind of honesty that refreshes, teaches and is enviable to those who wear a mask, I should think.

"No delicate flower wilting under the sun
I bear the weight of the world, and it has made me strong"

Those two lines rather took my breath away, so drawn to their bold truths they are. Reading this felt like waking up. You have a gift! katy xox

Linda, this is an excellent write. Remember, the righteous falls seven times, but the Lord bears her up. 'those who tripped you/have brought themselves down' I resonance with this one. Great, Linda.
