Poem Artwork

Do you see life budded before you?
As green as it is, it waits
unwavering

for the warmth of the light
It has no doubt it will be nurtured
to blossom

This is the meaning of faith
In your blindness, have you missed
the lesson?

Are you incognizant of the miracle
before you?

The fern lays curled in darkness
The lily a cold bulb underground

Both push through the damp cold
earth
in anticipation of the sun

This is the meaning of hope
awakening anew

The sun sets and the moon rises
everyday

You speak of death as if we are cursed
There is no curse

Except the numbing cold in our hearts
as we shut out the light

Oh exactly as we do shut it out.

Without the warmth of the Light everything is cold and despondent, for in death we are born again with Him, the Light of our lives. May He shine on us forever. Captivating write

Beautifully stated, Linda. I like how you used the inclusive "we" at the end. So often we come off as judgmental in "believers" poetry when we set ourselves apart from the failings of others. This is definitely not a self-righteous penning but one that should pull a distant reader in gently with the soft acknowledgement that we all need grace. It invites humbly the person to think before they click away. ~~Nordette

Very moving and powerful words Linda. We all need to take lessons from Mother nature. May the Lord be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & (((HUGS))), Barbie

You are on an unbelievable roll... your messages are suttle, yet carry so much meaning... "You speak of death as if we are cursed, there is no curse." The Light and the faith, would say, there is no death, just eternity... truly beautiful
