Tongue in cheek response to John Bidwell's latest poem, "You Can't"...

Your prose is ambrosia
Your poetry divine
But I can't even consider you
If you don't like the wine

I'm sorry to tell you this
For you truly are fine
But I can't avail you a kiss
Until you uncork the wine

You may be strong and true
And your arms ready to entwine
But you can forget it too
If you don't like the wine

For life is too short
And this is mine
My feet were made for stomping
And crushing the wine

To you this may seem trite
But its in my blood
If you opened my veins tonight
There would be a flood

Of Merlot and Shiraz Syrah and Cabernet
I'm so sorry, John
That it has to be this way...
