Green with love
The heart stirs
The mind wonders
The body yearns
Man in the Moon
Gasps incredulous

We wait in fear
Of wanting so much

Green with love
The soul smiles
The heart aches
The eyes cry
The molten sun
Flares in disgust

We wait for absolution
For the sin of desire

Once green with love
The heart closes
The soul cries
The mind wanders
The stars burn incredulous Hold the memory eternal

We crouch in corners
Of our mind's tomb

This is just gorgeous and oozes with that first "sensual awakening" that burns with an unsullied and pure appetite of desire that, in our moments of suddenly dissolving innocence, can then quickly turn into confusion and guilt... hmmm... have I ever got beyond that wonderful adolescence, I wonder?! You are a wonderfully cinematic writer. This is nostaligic and evocative and puts me right back into those endless sunshiney days of high summer on the farm, toying with all the arousing sights and senses of being a girl in a man's world... think I might just keep this one! :)) LOL Kate xx

Skillful use of repetition in this write, Linda. Great read aloud. Highly effective, provocative, and smoldering with passion. ~~Nordette

And then we do it again. God only knows why. I suspect it is the entire meaning of our existence, or something like that.

A piercing write that stirred echoes of Federico Garcia Lorca's famous meditations on green. Love the way your lines travel from the far reaches of outer space to the most sensitive indefensible areas of psychic inner space. An enjoyable read.
