Written for a challenge whose theme was "Dialogue"...
Heart:
"I am heavy with grief for myself and the world. My blood's flow has gone soft-the beat only an echo of younger days. Even fear's thumping rhythm is restrained."
Soul:
"The earth is your comfort if you'll only listen to her lessons. Can you hear beyond the pounding of yourself? She whispers secrets that the wise may decipher."
Heart:
"What use do I have for secrets? My chambers swell with them. My veins flow with the hidden sorows of this life. I may burst at the realization one day."
Soul:
"Your sorrows are only paths to my wisdom. I am deepened by your burdens. Don't close yourself to me. When you hold back tears to avoid pain, this will stop your beating."
Heart:
"Oh, for the peace. This would stop the wrenching of my vessels and the spasmotic twists of my valves. The work involved in keeping this organ alive under stress!"
Soul:
"I am the quieting force that rests in reason and blossoms in intuition. I have traveled with you from the dawn of time. I am the blueprint of man, drawn by the Creator."
Heart:
"Then my brother, I open my chambers to you. Teach me this wisdom wraught from the dawn of creation. For the pain brings sorrow unending and thickens my blood to bitter sap."

Killing me softly here, Linda and must keep to brood and meditate over at length. If you had written this especially for one Kate Burnside, I couldn't thank you enough. I think this one will be engraved into the palms of my hands by the time I'm done with it... and then some. Bless you and THANK YOU Kate xx PS and if this don't daggone win that challenge, I'll eat my (straw!) hat xx
