Your voice rolls thunder through distant hills

It echoes ancient songs on sacred mountains

I fly to the Source a wounded bird

But on smokey fingers of sage my incense rises to heaven

My prayers are spirits holding you fast

They will not fail you or let you fall

From fire we came, our smoke trails pain

Release is in a smile, a tender word, a cloud of hope

Rains will come but the light will prism rainbows across our eyes

Our tethered hearts will dance in the sun or we will die to love

Our voices rolling thunder over the earth

What a powerful piece, Linda - and it always amazes me how so many in AD post similar topic poems almost simultaneously.

I love this poem. This beautiful verse:

"Our thethered hearts will dance in the sun
or we will die to love
Our voices rolling thunder over the earth"

That is love in full power. Awesome the power!
You've captured its essence here with this gem.

My goodness, this is intoxicating with a heady spirituality, Linda, which makes me think Native American Indian culture. You take me right into this with so few lines, and your power of invocation and evocation are extraordinary here. I feel like this is a veil I could easily step through to be at one with all the elements - earth, wind, and fire. Delightfully nebulous emanating from the heartily visceral. Am keeping! A heavenly poem, Linda.

Release is in a smile, a tender word, a cloud of hope
That line is divine.
A tender word at the right time is a healing balm...
