the terror of words

Punching through walls

holding back tears

that choke you blind

remembering a girl

that laughed

on the street corners

cold stone dead

the promise wasted

You tasted the blood

as sacrifice to a memory

but the gods were'nt satisfied

that night
took your silent screams instead

and night turned to day

You punched a time card

for a girl still here-
