So inspired by Kate Burnside's lovely prose(and several poems pertaining to the same topic) that I wanted to write some of my own...Ty Kate
This delicate life is a raw cotton thread woven on the spool of time. We fall headfirst into the fluff and swallow the horned bits of the flower, choking and gasping and crying outloud.
But God weaves instinct with the light. We stubbornly push ahead from our blood-tinged beginning. We draw the string tentively at first and with tiny fingers pull it into our mouths, wanting to taste that which we don't comprehend. Wet with our exploration, with each grasp we leave an imprint on the fibers of our lives. Every breath, touch, utterance and footstep leaves a trail of our existence and leads us toddling down the road of wisdom. At times we tumble, tangled in a twist of
our own creation. But we stand and step out of the tangled twine and carefully move forward. For all of life is movement, a constant turning and weaving of the thread into cloth rich with nubbing. None have a smooth hand. All the better to feel and relate the wisdom that we have spun...
Linda, this is FANTASTIC! I am so glad I didn't miss it... and to think that this has anything to do with me is beyond belief! :)) You are a natural, and the flow of this trips off the mind and tongue, along with the dripping imagery and content. Just love it! You have managed to express the inexpressibly difficult concept of what I can't quite get a greasy grip of with the corners of my mind, even now... sometimes we just have to "suck it and see" instead! Yes, taste and smell ARE the most senstive of the senses sometimes, and I can suddenly understand how it is that babes, with all the exploration they have to do in their early months and years, put EVERYTHING into their mouths. The last lines are OUTSTANDING: "For all of life is movement, a constant turning and weaving of the thread into cloth rich with nubbing. None have a smooth hand. All the better to feel and relate the wisdom that we have spun..." All I can say is, if I have had a small hand in ANY of this, then it is an entirely invisible one. You are master at this form. Bless you and thank you for the mention. I am awed! LOL Kate xx
So it's kind of like prose poetry or poetry prose.
I think it's very unique and this spoke to me of
what we spin in life, should be weaved with care
and wisdom. Excellent! There is much to be pondered Linda!

Great to see when another poet inspires another.
Specially a carrot crunching one.
If we stuck to Gods light. Our lives would be less of a baddly self made woven mess.
Splendid intelligently composed prose Linda.
You have woven so many layers and textures into your cloth of human understanding. This is a fantastic write, I really like this one, Linda.
