A response to a challenge posted . Spirit Musings...

There is a space
between worlds
The great divide
Our hope and our pain
Unknowing unseeing
yet feeling the mystery
in a sea of stars
Barely touching the horizon
and the gathering of souls
All the colors of song
One heart, one voice
A city of angels
in a pool of clouds
Light breaks through
A holy brilliance
We stretch
to catch the sun
It slips through our fingers
Our vision is a fleeting rain
soft on our lips
A sigh of leaves undone
A wildflower
pressed between pages
Its rivers flow clear
and dark as India ink
Separated
Drowning in our pain
We surface to breathe
Only to fall under again
There is a space
between worlds
The great divide
We stretch and run
to fly to the sun
Forgetting
we are wingless birds
We fall
just out of reach
of heaven

As always quite excellent...the reviews say a lot about your last lines, but myself, I can relate to "Drowning in our pain, We surface to breathe, Only to fall under again" ... Buddha says that pain is an illusion, but it is so hard to break away from it... excellent write for someone on a spiritual journey

"Separated
Drowning in our pain
We surface to breathe
Only to fall under again "

These verses nicely sum up the way it's been for me for a while now, Lin. This poem treats excellently a universal theme of mankind and life in this dimension. Well done, Lin. Thank you for sharing your gift. Love and peace to you.

We are all lost and alone in our own separate worlds, Ones love is anothers hate, Ones sunshine is anothers rain, Ones truth is anothers lie. But oh! how wonderful when our souls commune, When by chance they come together as one, In that space between.....
Wonderful write, Pierre

How can I not ADORE this tonight, Linda?! :)) Mentioning as you do, City of Angels (obsessed at the moment!)... and all the rest that jingles like Christmas bells in my mind. In my case, it would have to be a seraphic feather pressed between pages, but that's OK! :)) Yep, guess heaven is always that one angel hair's breath/breadth out of reach... needless to say, am keeping! LOL Kate xx

This is most excellent!
The divide is wide and wild.
Mysterys of life and just a

Yup. And this great divide is mangnified by our own inability to understand. You did a good job here.

Linda,

It is surely a place for the gathering of lost souls. Watch " Ghost Whispers " on Friday evening. It's a new program. Your poem much reminded me of it. It stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and is a weekly series.
