Goodbye, AD. Thank you for nurturing this poet in the last year and for sharing your gifts. This is my wish for each one of you in the coming year-health, love and the hope of peace on the horizon. Anything else is just frosting on the cake...Love, Lin

Poem Artwork

The persons who walk this beach
leave an imprint in the sand
Time and tide will wash it clean,
but the memory clings-
Sand in your cuffed hem,
the crush of earth and shell on your skin
The grainy remains in your pocket
that stay under your fingernails
A runaway letter wanders in search
of the words written on the shore
A downed kite twists in the rocks
A tossed paper cup with a lipstick stain
is given life on the wind
Hold a conch shell, the ocean still breathes there
Remember the world in your ear?

I remember explosive seas,
words that crashed my soul
Inky foamed assaults on stones
as well as soft waves on white sands
Shared laughter smooth seaglass
you held in your hand
Mists that steamed and sputtered phantoms
that I could feel but only see with my mind's eye-
A moon's reflection on dark waters
Messages in bottled time,
they lay as sheltered clams under the surface
that life will unearth again to open my shell
And break this heart of tender flesh...

Linda, I have found AD to be a community that will "hold a space" for you. You will be missed if you do leave. I always enjoy reading your work. Stay if possible. If not, be well and keep writing. Happy Thanksgiving. Dawn

A most beautiful and meaningful poetic gift, Lin. The Den will not be the same without you. I wish you love, peace, strength and all that is good.

So you exit as you entered, with gifts of gold and light flung freely to the literary masses:-) Thank you for the spendid treasures and for being the exquisitely sublime poet that you are and always shall be.

I echo Ed's remarks and as was said to me not to longer ago it is a shame to lose even one of our family of writers, sure hope you will reconsider. This last poem is prove of your value to us as an author and friend on the den.

Good-bye, AD? We truly hate to see you go, Linda, and we truly wish you wouldn't, but I guess we must all follow our hearts to wherever they lead us.

This is quite a farewell poem, and we also wish you health, love, and peace wherever your life's journey is now leading you.
