No more pretty words
can't do it any more
Heart's like stone
My soul is sore
Can't go on pretending
that everything's fine
The world is dying
Beauty has flown
crushed into dust
strangled at the bone
I choke on my coffee
food won't go down
bad dreams swallow me
I wish I could drown
down by that river
wash me in the water
cleansed by the river...
But it runs with blood

When someone hurts you to the soul there is no one you can turn to but yourself and all the good you've stored within. If you reach back you can feel all the warmth of your soul those times you've saved yourself from the hatefulness of someone else. I have felt this before too many times. Love and peace. Pierre.

Dearest love to you Lin!
(Your title reminds me of "All the pretty horses" ... do you know it?
Your pain is your deepest love. Fortunately, nothing is permanent.

‘What is pain? Pain, in the real sense of the word, is the deepest joy. If one has imagination one can enjoy tragedy more than comedy. Comedy is for children, tragedy is for the grown-up. It is through pain that a person becomes an old soul. A person may be young in age, but deep in thought.’ Hazrat Inayat Khan

I'm sure you'll appreciate that quote Lin!

Oh I think we all feel that song from time to time, the trick is then to look around and find a new one to sing Linda. One that involves a babie's gurgle, a flower's bloom, a little boys laughter as he plays in the mud or the pride of a father or mother in their childrens success. Look around still a lot left to sing about in this world sas as it may seem at times.

sometimes the ills of this planet can overwhelm us ... we cannot lose perspective, there is so much more to life than what mankind creates ...

powerful sense of angst ...

Linda life has never been this great. To live in such a great country as yours many die for. We need to rewind our stopped clocks, because life is in the present and future, our pasts are dead and gone..
Use your writing talent, so much healing to share and give from your hearts depths...

Oh Linda!

We all get days like this, and we survive them, and learn from them, and scar over, with stronger skins.....I always ask myself when things are just too terrible........

how will I feel about this a year from now
and I always tell myself, if

I am alive in a year, then that is a small victory in itself.........
and I have learned in this life

to be greatful for every crumb......

this poem is alive, and beautiful on its own merit
because it has been written by a talented, intelligent, feeling, poetess...........

blood is the life flow

not the end...

Yes . . . times are changing quickly Lin.

It's good in these times to remember what we have been called to individually and put our focus there. And then do everything we do in love and wisdom.

Trying to embrace too much, or understand the arcane, can cause an inordinate amount of overload mentally and emotionally.

I believe that another age is fast coming to an end on this planet and we will be the ones to witness it!

Yes. It does. Especially The Euphrates or The Tigris. Heal thyself if you can. Your anguish bleeds from the words.
