My life is not a poem
(Although I may take pieces
Odds and ends
Thoughts and maybes
Picked at random from my day
To make a snatch of song.)
My life is not a poem
(I may describe a book
or river
Perhaps a glimpse of a pet
Something that makes me pause
Awhile
To weave a little song.)
My life is not a poem -
Yet -
I suppose I could do worse
Than sing my songs
And smile at friends
In my snatch of verse.
