you see
it's not that i'm
a sexist
as much as
i am
a realist

and the reality is
there are things
women do
that i can't
like
fitting that
many useless
items
in such a cute
little bag
or
the way a group
of over five
can talk at the same time
and
incredibly
still hear each other
or
say a choice few words
in a heated
moment
that can make me
want to put a bullet
in the most endangered
species
i can find

these are things
i'll never get
the trick of

now
flip the script

do you really
think
you can throw
a ball
as far as me?
or
commit to an act
of aggression
with the same
efficiency
or optimize your thoughts
to fit into
neat little compartments
in your heart?
or
better yet
appreciate another
woman
like a man does?

sure
you are the
fairer
more complicated
emotional
nurturing
socially adept
life giving
revered
sex

but don't forget
we men are
so very fragile
in our dull
simplicity
and we roar
and smash
and bite
and smear
and pull your
pigtails
because we
have no way
of saying
"please   be
gentle"

we can talk
about gender
equality
when you stop
buying
women's
periodicals
