This is a re-post and was written when I was very down on myself, and wished I could end it all. It is written in red to show that I should have written it in blood.
I'd Rather Die By Barbara Lynn Terry
I'd rather die, Than live this lie of being a man, Cause you see I am, A soul that is female, And I wish my body could be, the female that is my soul.
I am always told That because my body is male, That I must be a man, When I know a girl I am.
I love to wear pretty dresses, Have my hair in long curly tresses. To play jump rope, jacks and hopscotch.
But because my body is male, And they will not publish my tale, And cannot love the man, Who would accept me as I am, I'd rather die, Than live this constant lie.
Barbie, you are what God made you to be. And from all I've read of your postings, reviews, as well as your sweet encouraging comments to many of us on AD, you have a beautiful soul. I'm hoping that since this was written at a low spot, that you are now in a much better place. Be true to yourself dear. I know that I along with many others at AD are proud to know you. Blessings, Michelle
I am impressed that you shared such deep sadness. Although I can't say I know how you feel in your pain of being trapped in the wrong body I do know the feeling of wanting to die. You are here for a reason, don't let this world that we live in determine who you are going to be. I wish you all the best and hope that the world can see what a gem you are.
Love & Peace,
Rebecca
I am glad that you found the strength to go on, even when you felt otherwise. That is the sign of a very strong person; you are most certainly that! A courageous write; very well done!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)
Well, if you have told your friend who you are at the VERY BEGINNING of the friendship, then you cannot call it a "lie". The worse is when you two are good friends already, and then came the surprise, then it is like decieving and "emotional blackmailing."
I'd rather have a friend who is honest in the VERY BEGINNING of the friendship and leave no surprises.
I am glad you found the strength, courage and conviction to realize that martyrs really only hurt themselves, the pen is your weapon and your release, keep using it my friend.
Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
