Today is mama's birthday and she sure does thank me for this poetic thought. :) She would have been 78 years old today.

She couldn't say "I love you," But she always made do, With what she had, Even tho she always called me bad. When I was little, nine or ten, She would always tell me when, That when she was a little girl, There was much despair in the world.
She had a sense of humor, But that was ruined in the rumor, That her first born dressed as a girl, And this sent her into a whirl, Where she could not think of what to do, Until she finally sent me through, Her own private hell and back, But courage I did lack, To tell her that her daughter I needed to be, But she just refused in her mind to see, This beautiful girl in me.
She passed away one Groundhog Day, In much suffering and pain, And even tho she could never say, Those three lovely words "I love you", I miss her so and wish I could, Still have her here with me, So she could actually see, This wonderful girl in me.
Even tho I went through a life, Of abuse of every kind, I still love her in my mind.
A very well written poem filled with lots of emotion. It is true that unspoken words are sometimes the hardest to cope with. Hope you have found what you long for here at the Den. I lost my mother in 1996 and still miss her. Keep up the good work!

that her nature, upbringing, and circumstances did not allow when
she was on Earth. You are such a loving person. How could she
not be proud? If she could come back and start over, I am sure
