They came in the dead of the night, Ravenous and hungry looking for food, They tore at my flesh, bones and soul, They seared my mind in the fired grill, Their screams of victory so shrill, As I heard their devilish laughter, As they took their fill, Of my innocence, faith, and will.
I am lonely and so afraid, In my abandoned state, That my fears last to this very day, Unable to leave my mind in peace, While they still laugh and enjoy their feast.
Oh why can't they leave me alone? Why won't they let me go home, And be at peace in my soul? Why won't they let me be whole? Why must they continue to devour, This innocent little flower, Who only wants to be complete and whole, In her body and soul?
I could cry. You are such a sweet and compassionate person, and Life
. . .what can I say? Always the tender-hearted who get the worst.
Fear and Anxiety know just when and how to attack! But Barbara, Luv,
you strong. Nightmares can make you pause, but they will never
stop you. Right, I'm right! ~~~ Truth-or-Dare Time: I am afraid more often than not. In fact, I have been cooking up a poem
on the subject. I love people, but there are those that. . .you
know. Hate to be hurt, and it often comes out of left field.
But this is about you. Just want you to know that you are
NOT alone. Scary proposition, living!! Good thing we are
tough!! Luv 'n' Hugs, Pea
You are a woman, inside and out. You write your feelings so well and raw. I understand where these feelings coming from. You write your heart out girl! We are all here for you!!!!!
Barbie, you are a vibrant woman. You need not explain yourself to anyone unless you wish to. Your friends here know who you really are. Don't let the past torment you to the point that it robs you of your future. Remember Lot's wife!!! Bless you dear...Michelle
Barbie, I know it is hard to let go of the wrongs of the past, but you have new and wonderful friends that care very much about how you feel. Your poem has powerful words, both painful and sad. This was written from the soul I can see. Great job.

Oh Barb, how I wish all that pain would leave you so that you can be who you really are, an incredible woman.
Love ya,

As the fears come upon us we search for answers but when mind rapes occur it is the mind that loses the ability to reason. Strong mental images flash through in this one Barbie.

Try not eating spicy food just before bedtime. Just kidding. JUST kidding! I guess we all can relate in our own special way this this demon-driven poem.
Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
a living nightmare..........
