They are tired of reading about my sexuality, That I should write about another eventuality, But my sexuality is all I have today, Making me sad in such a way, That stops me from being happy and carefree. If only I could be this girl I so much need to be, I would forever be so grateful you see, As I live the life that was meant for me.
Oh let me be so free and wild, This girl inside that is still a child, Who yearns to break free, For all the world to see.
Please let me be understood, Not treated like a piece of wood, That is so much sawdust, Because to be the girl I must, The life I live should be just, And others should really see, That this girl I have to be.
To me you are the girl you wish to be. We read who you are inside and although I know your sexuality is a struggle and you have to contend with the moral judgments of others, the best advice I can give is those words you speak out so often...BE the girl you have to be.

Something I have learned (the hard way) is that many people are offended by things that they simply do not understand. That you have had the courage to be completely free and honest in your writing is admirable.
Do not let anyone shame you into silence. Creative writing is about being CREATIVE. Remember what Oscar Wilde said, "There is no such thing as a moral or immoral book. Books are well written or badly written. That is all." The same applies to poetry.
Good write and as Elizabeth said the next chapter is up to you now to continue on, I must say though that the newer writes you did that were non sex related were wonderful stuff. Keep up the faith Barbie.

A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
My book of poetry is being redone by me, I have a beautiful cover designed and the book will have a few more than 200 poems in it. I am going to have it printed on demand here in Canada. When it is done I will let you know when it is done and if anyo
