Can you hear the wind

through the trees, when

the leaves, are still?

Can you see the motion

of a distant pair of wings

on the majestic Monarch butterfly?

Can you feel the gentle touch

of a child’s hand, as you both

walk down the street?

Do you listen to the sparrow,

as she sings her beautiful song

waking you to a bright, sunny day?

Can you smell the heavenly scent

of each and every flower

as you go about your day?

Those who live and work

in ivory towers and tall skyscrapers,

have no idea of the life they’re missing.

They just make and shake their deals,

And go home with the satisfied look

Of how they are providing for their families.

But…Are they really providing,

with love, understanding, and wisdom,

or are they just giving money?

When you can hear the wind,

when you can see the distant pair of wings,

when you can feel the child’s touch…

When you can listen to the sparrow’s song,

when you can smell every flower

then you will know…

That love, understanding, and wisdom,

are not commodities that are bartered

for and sold, but are earned.

So, take a lesson people, for if you

do not have love, understanding, and wisdom,

you do not have the vibrancy of life.
