This is a poem about the ideal life that is lived in a virutal world where people can have fun, even while they are working.

The Life I Have Been Dreaming Of
by Barbara Lynn Terry

In real life I wasn't allowed
I had to crawl, scrape and bow
I was herded together with others
like a Guernsey cow.

But in Second Life there is
no more sorrow or strife
and I can have hugs and love
like I had been dreaming of.

In Second Life there is happiness,
acceptance, friends galore and
if you would like much, much more
and all you do is open the door.

In Second Life I can live in my soul
I can be complete, happy and whole
as the teeny boppin' girl
to jump, bounce, and twirl.

Real life for me is an evil I have to
live and all I ever wanted to do
was be the girl in my soul,
and be happy, complete, and whole.

Now I am their daughter and they
never think I am a such a bother
They huggle me with the love
I had always been dreaming of.

We all have that "ideal" life stored in our memory banks and our hearts and the beauty of it is if we really need it we can trave there at will any time we choose.

A lovely dream, and wouldn't it be wonderful if we could make those dreams come true. Nicely penned.

The only thing I can say after reading the poem above, is to go in the shoes of Zero Mostel in "The Fiddler on the Roof" and sing..."if I were a rich man, if I were A biddy biddy rich,yidle-diddle-didle-didle man."

That's the way life ought to be, Barbie. This world seems quite alien to that unfortunately. Honest and from the soul; thanks for sharing. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

The key to happiness opens the door in all worlds, Barbie...the virtual world is very judgmental...although there are friends to be made on the internet that do take their place in our real every day lives in a good way...it's good to see you posting such an upbeat poem for us...be well...

Love,
Sage

Nicely done, Barbara. I guess everyone would truly be more accepting and non-judgemental in a virtual world. The frightening thing is that you would never know what was real... Enjoyed your poem.

Hugs,
Anna
