George is a friend of one of my sons. He is in prison. I have been writing to him and sharing some of his poems on my den. He wrote this poem in 2005 and just sent it to me.
Freedom in the 21st century is a joke
We are all prisoners in a sense,
beaten by the "good guys" till we're broke
We're starting a new society behind a fence
Why are we led to believe in dreams
You can be anything you want to be-,
not so
Reality hits , or so it seems,
Your protective government is now the foe
What about the children? Your own children
While you're living your future
What about theirs
Were you thinking of them as divorce was filed
They are making a new reality with
drugs
You care only enough to lock them away
while help and love is sent to other
countries with hugs
Your own children are rotting today
Build more asylms,and prisons, USA
Soon we'll need them forever
As we see the judges smiling face
when he is slamming and locking the doors...

MaryGrace, George, thanks for the relay and the poem. Yes, there is a war in progress and you have become caught up in it. USA has more of it's population behind bars that any other nation. Why, because we have the best police, the best court system, and the best law making system. Do you think we should take a look at this issue? I think so, but I am a minority which can't develop any traction. MG keep relaying, George, keep writing. s/henry
George, you have so much compassion in your heart and the light of God has truly touched your soul. One day you will stand tall and walk with the knowledge that God is watching over you and guiding you down a chosen path.....

I don't know why George is in prison but I have a feeling that just a few breaks in his earlier life could have changed his present situation to a different outcome. I pray that he finds Peace, and God's Blessings Always, Paul.

Very honest, truthful and bitter write. Even tne good book tells us to visit the sick and incarcerated.
