This is an artcile written by George a while ago. He is now in a prison workcamp at Avon Park. He's studying to become a minister ! I'm so proud of him and all he's accomplishing in his life. His letters are filled with God's love !
What comes to mind when you think of the word love? Do you think of a home with parents, friends or a spouse? How about all the young men and woman who have never expierenced any of these things?
I came from a household of what many would call a rollercoaster of emotions. My parents seperated when I was young and I ended up in foster care.
When I finally did come home,I had a stepfather who was very abusive to my mother, sisters and me.I went through many years of this, until he went to prison. I guess you could say my outlook on love was distorted and tainted. As I gerw to be a man, I never knew how to express love. My mom tried, but she also came from a broken family. Her idea of love, was letting me do as I pleased. Unfortunately most of the kids I ran around with got into trouble, and so did I.
I will be spending my seventh Christmas in prison. I've watched some TV shows which showed families gathering together and doing things, I thought was love. I watched with wistful eyes.
A couple of years ago I was reading a true story and found out what real love is. I also learned that I can be
a part of this real love and no one can ever take it from me. I can have it right Now And Forever. I can be part of a family that is the biggest family on earth. Its God's Family! I can have moms, sisters, dads, brothers, and ultimately one Father - God. Through the Bible I learned, that even tho I'm not perfect ,I'm loved!
In John 3:16 we read "that God so love the world, he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have eternal life." Now that's love forever! He also led by example, that we should follow in His footsteps and love each other. Love is an action, not just a word!
Our love for God comes with obidence to him as a Father who loves and provides for us through learning to love him. We also learn to love one another.
When is the last time you did something for someone out of love?
Corinthians 13:13 says, "For now there is faith, hope and love, and the greatest of all these is, love."
PRAISE GOD! ...FOR 'HE' IS NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD BE LOST!...

Great story and very well written.
MaryGrace, I feel this young man is still searching for an identity and while he believes he has found it through God--which is good--he has found it within a six foot ten room with bars. He's going to need lots of help when he gets on the outside and suddenly finds that he doesn't have the protective security of those bars--yes, security. There'll be nothing to protect him on the outside from the world around him, which he will find is a challenging place with rules for everything that he will have to acclimate himself to independently, as opposed to being told what to do. It will be a trying time for him until he immerses himself in the throngs of family, friends, job and the new culture outside prison.
I pray he will have the loving support he will need and I pray he will, indeed, make a place in the world that will house the kind of life he truly wants. God bless him, and you, too, for caring about him.
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
