Too fast the days go by.
Some times it's hard to keep the pace!
I must keep on trying,
for I want to win time's race.
There is so much to write about.
There is so much to tell.
I reach deep with in the
recesses of my mind
where childhood stories dwell.
I want my family to know
about my youthful fun filled times,
when sun shiney days
and whispering winds, stole my heart away.
Nature was alive in all its glory,
True blue skies were always there.
The chirping songs of birds filled the air.
Earth's breathtaking beauty was every where.
The golden moon shown brightly
on star filled summer nights.
Fire flies danced in velvet skies
as frogs croaked melodious songs of unequaled delight.
As each precious day goes by,
I need to write some notes,
and soon they'll become a story
of my childhood life I wrote.
You are right about time. Now that I'm retired, I seem less able to get things done and infrequent events come up very fast and surprised me. I'm struggling to finish my latest novel and I never struggled with a novel ending before.
Like you, while I've written my autobiography (over 22 years) I have not written the first book that I thought of about the joyous nasty things we did as boys (and got away with) while growing up. With time flying like this, I may never get to that book even though I hope I do.
Get started on those childhood stories for your family, they will cherish them.
"There is so much to write about
There is so much to tell"
Yes, it's a wonder if there is
going to be time to tell it all!
A lovely piece of work, Mary!
I can completely relate, MaryGrace. I am doing that. I have been writing for very many years but never found a way to share it with family and friends. It seems they are the hardest to share with; almost like they don't care, don't take me seriously. So I decided to publish my "stuff." Three books so far. I am doing it, not because I ever expect to make a cent from it, quite the contrary. I am hoping that when I give my books away (at substantial cost, by the way) they will be a special gift from me. That's what I am doing. Your poem's theme I can completely understand. I just posted something here, by the way. I don't post very often. Love and best wishes to you,
A wicked Cajun Fairy named Robes Pierre entered the impenetrable Magical doll land of Sha Bebe. Queen Faustina, the ruler of the doll land, thought she had destroyed him, but he's back! Will the doll land survive his evil ways?
It's almost Christmas. Lynn Basil is writing her last book about a secret entrance into the magical doll land of Sha Bebe that she loves so much. Bagannos have taken over the world! Lynn finally meets her dolls in real life. Can she write in a Secret
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
I enjoyed this poem. I also cherish memories of my own childhood. Excellent poetry.
Love and blessings,
Linda
Wonderful poem to memories so delightful. Our childhood
was blessed with all its glory.
Lady Mary Ann
Beautiful picture.
Thanks,
Chris
