I had my chance at love,
so I tried it.
I had my chance at marriage,
twice to get it right.
I had my chance to be scholarly,
and I let it slip away.
I had my chance at motherhood,
wonder what the children have to say.
I had my chance at friendship,
and gave up on a few.
I had my chance at a career,
should have aimed higher.
but instead I retired.
I had my chance to be young
and always thought I was old.
I had my chance to be middle-aged
and now I am old.
I had a chance at life
and if I had a chance to do it over
I would do it better,
but I’ve already had my chance.

Dear Mary,
Life , as it sounds so alive in you, is alive as long
as we dream and keep going after that which makes us happy.
You are full of dreams still becasue as you stated ;
You would do it over,....go then and do it til you're satisfied
