Yeah...haven't we heard that before...same thing happens with us Muslims...we don't take responsibility for our actions. We take Islam as a label and hope for forgiveness......

In reality, what we say of ourselves doesn't hold much water unless we apply, meaning we must act on what we say, that's why sincerity is so important in Islam. God scans the heart.

God is Gracious but He is Just, too.

wow this does help, met a many that says it "I'm Christian" or "i'm blessed in such a nasty way that it is truly surprising

It's sad when people have to have some crutch, like higher forgiveness, to feel good about themselves. I'd say it's a way to avoid self responsibility for our actions.

Very accurate description of what it means to be a Christian. In my experience I often hear when I tumble, 'But you're supposed to be a Christian!' The apostle Paul could say, 'Who will deliver me from this wretched body?' Most believers fully empathise with Paul's plea. I go to church not because I am good but precisely because I am bad. This I say in response to folk who tell me how ordered and good I am. In a nutshell, it's harder playing down the good than the bad. Folk seem to relate easier to bad than good. I guess that's why bad news makes good news as far as the press is concerned.
Yes, it's tough being a Christian, harder than I expected and I thought I was a tough guy before I met Christ.

You hit it on the mark excellent with this poem I love the discriptions and instruction contained in this poem a blessing...
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

it is true many tink we Christians think were better, perfect it is the exact opposite and if one does then they are not a christian....

Sandra, thank you and your friend for sharing this. It is so true.Too many think badly of Christians as they always hope to impress people to believe, because of the forgiveness they received.
Especially new Christians they scare people;-) this should help some to understand better. Thank you!
